Our Story
I’m Julie
I was born and raised in the Basque Country. I carry this place within me always. Its landscapes, its silences, its ancestral crafts, and its founding stories. They are not backdrop. They are part of who I am.
Passionate about history, art history and all forms of creation, I am above all a lover of wild places. Those spaces where nature, time and mystery intertwine. Where the land has something to say, if you are quiet enough to hear it.
The idea of Mythes & Matières was born from my own travel desires, journeys where one truly takes the time to inhabit a place. To understand it. To feel it. Far from accumulation and rushing. I dreamed of experiences where one could be fully elsewhere: discovering without scattering, creating without hurrying, reconnecting with what truly matters.
I created this project to share the land I love with people who, like me, crave slowness, beauty and meaning. I will be with you throughout the residency, not as a guide reciting facts, but as someone who knows this land from the inside.

What we believe in
Slowness & contemplation
Taking the time to see, to feel, to let a place reveal itself. Refusing the rush.
Respect for the living
Moving through nature with care and attention. Listening before taking.
Sharing of crafts
Every artisan carries a knowledge, a gesture, a way of being in the world. Time with them is a form of transmission.
Wonder & poetry
Beauty is not decorative. It is essential.
Intimate groups
Seven participants, maximum. Small groups create the conditions for real encounter.

Where the land speaks softly, and you finally listen.
